" When it Comes to Art "

When it comes to art
irregardless of the jargon
of flash mobs chaotically
recruiting posies for round robins
as back ups for bereft fathers
during Mother's Day Garden Parties
on industrial red carpets proximal
to the Bronx as cathartic
nods to gin and tonics
striking illicitly safe at a distance
dressed similarly not identically
while smiling in top hats and ties
with adrenaline highs
for button-pushing archetypes
positioned stage right
as nights solidify
minus compromise
gathering outside
improvised two at a time
serpentinely forthright
while singing lines like:
"biopic blood ties bind"
self-pityingly weepy
turning the other cheek
unconvincingly like a sphinx
while seething underneath
imagined sequels
of the company we keep
brazenly absent
after scattering ashes
as characters slip
into murderous suspicion
of artsy kinships...
