falling short of ambition


being eked out annually
at double the amount
of the loudest amid doubts
of turning out against let downs
obscured by ousted dust clouds


yellowish brown
laterally flattened
grasping abdomens
parasitic caterpillars


piercing the skin
stocky in build
blackening
yellow jackets
indistinct
or abstract
as species attacks


knowingly navigating
towards a roped-off corner
in a speed machine
while ransacking bodies
of silicon in amiable partings


dropping the artist
in the process
like the nicest possible
snoring heartily
as the hurly-burly elderly


recouping costs
in thumb-nail portraits
with endorsements
of well-fought juggernauts
for digital coffees
on recent mournings


like tracks on salt
in revolving doors
sprawled across
nagging sorts
urged strongly
ticked-off
roiling royalties...
