" For the Most Part "

Mom & Mom-

For the most part
cold swims in the dark
with amber shades of orange
propelled stolidly as an octopus
vanishing up an arm
anatomically forgotten
as non-combative
skittish species scattering
in recently undamned airspace
as alternatives to manned
inaccuracies and drawbacks
of risk factors in particulate matter
lighted by fireflies superbly unlikely
to be trapped inside their own likeness
as look-alikes wickedly hard-to-find
in bundles of colored wires
shading into violence older and wiser
as primary rivals emphasizing
former sizes of bodies and lives
while pedaling paint-chipped trikes
morphing into hot toddy icons
cherry picked like sweet times
surprisingly just right in line ups
of scruffy beat-up shrugs
from stubbornly rough-and-tumble
vulnerably fuzzy earth mothers
trenchantly thinner
mythically less witty
within the limits
of shape-shifting tinsmiths
of the not-quite-convincing
embracers of risk
deliriously unreliable
like an almost thief
with unfailing penalties
for unethical intents
of maximum sentences
without paying attention
to selections
of multiple-choice tests
while seated next
to everyone else
raising themselves
since obsolescence
dipping in development
rapidly unchecked
like white picket fences
on the many levels
of instant messages
toiling together
in elastic-waist pants
with a positive
side to the latter
of far-flung locales
as members not tenants
of diverse sets
meaning to suggest
playing pat-a-cake
on a grand staircase
of coffee tables
for loftily talking cohorts
munching popcorn
in dorms for paramours
of hand-drawn unicorns...
