yet going on the defensive
by craning necks
and debating the merits
of single mindedness
in reams of self-taught
bedazzlingly pleasing selfies
like unexplainable brain waves
coursing over retainers
rounding out donations
solely on public grant making
becoming negated
by private foundations
strictly by invitation
when solicitation
brings greater fame
along with lessening acclaim...
