" Something Akin "

Something akin
in the vicinity
close in proximity
still infringing
loosely attributed
exquisite in miniature
intricacies deftly twisting
spiraling filigrees
listing separately
pressure and mystery
on the rise
especially troubling
possibilities
like threatening
fiery eruptions
put in harm's way
in fits and starts
like 2 billion
cubic yards of lava
effusively spewing out
in red-hot fountains
accompanied
by giant plumes of ash
as molten magma
cracks through barriers
causing vast floods
of deformation data
dense and harrowing
in between
bellows and shrieks
warped juddering
explosively playing
unaccompanied
all phrasing
and no melody
courageously
trailblazing...
