fading to gray
in key plays
of muted shades
like standard navy
for policy makers
ruled by glaring mistakes
and narrow escapes
on the outer flanks
of gaseous landscapes
from the meltwater of elsewhere
as chief indicators
escalating in non-linear ways
after making mission statements
more often to blame
for spontaneous mutations
sounding flippant to say,
" Gone well beyond expectations! "
while bemoaning randomness at play
undercutting reputations
by questioning the causation
of uncontrolled growth
provoking volcanic correlations
to mere approximations
when devastating
earthquakes take place...
