Taken by surprise
during volatile times
caught between
foresight and hindsight
as parent and child
milestone markers collide
from streets to galleries
devoting lives and the like
to affinities for parents and offspring
sharing wear and tear
simultaneously folding
and holding hands
as if in prayer and dance
provocatively linked
to flashbacks and forecasts
being scaled back
experiencing pushback
after attempting to expand
recoiling from daily demands
captured on camera
as teetering sacks
smelling of tobacco
smoke and incense
in a damaged
under-repair
chapel of prayer...
