Requiem Refrains

" Requiem Refrains "

by Suzán Jiván
Mom & Mom-
Mom Suzán

Unswayed by intimidation
in your face firmer than a barricade
of big names manipulated
by timetables and soap science

with fixed IQs
in avoidance of execution
as static thankless tasks
like polishing latex finger nails
painted in anticipation of a wake

with "ah-ha" requiem refrains
in close proximation
to something of a brouhaha
of genealogy for solo concerts
devoid of grandiosity

like humble pie served as shoofly
call it piracy of privacy
dreamed up naïvely
pitching enigmatically
with listing sidekicks

racing into revisions
by buccaneering
on the high seas
draped over our seats
free diving into fiercely
outpoured lives...
