" No One Asked "
by Suzán Jiván
Mom & Mom-
Mom Suzán
No one asked
unabashedly
rehashed
like pasts recast
with abandon
remastered
with fairy-tale
enchantment
while living
with pedantically
practical songs
and dances
hopelessly schematic
chrome-like sheens
eclipsed by knife-
wielding pixies
of anarchy
making tremendous sense
headlining as barely legible squelchers
moony eyed and sweet faced
being restrained by glossy leggings
and a white bustier
pitted against capacious fate
equated to exalted hard-cooked eggs
coated in mayonnaise...
