Enable Us

" Enable Us "

Enable us
to witness
a daring
back then

whip-smart
at the outset
nothing glamorous
involving daggers
and the super-
naturally intangible

past ordeals likened
to diagramed deals
cashing the spade jack
and ruffed the last
spade in the dummy

having to concede
a ruff-and-sluff
drawn to the subtler
slow-dawning hourlong sets
with rapturous endings
elemental and effortless

averse to succinctness
or simplicity on austerity
minus dignity harmonically oblique
as hopeful uncertainty hinting
at atonality shimmering lyrically

upliftingly weepy aimed squarely
at the working parts of unblocked
debacles assembled at parties
taking stock after wailing in costumes
trying on the bonnet raising the bar
seemingly left at odds...
