sprouting chronologically

as ideas expand like knickknacks
and tchotchkes cast perversely
in bronze purple hearts
inducing sweat and vomiting
from heart-leaved Four O'Clocks
acrid rank clammy-hairy tonic baths
splashing in waters
leaping through the air
with community-based
neighborly faces
in book-length essays
impertinently inert
broadly misinterpreted
on graceful surfaces
out of currency
amid exposed brick
and metal fixtures
featured as smelted pennies
coated in gold smelling of ammonia
wet meadows moist soil
swordlike leaves papery sheaths
awakening the spleen inducing edema
dangerously close to a lethal dose
