going well as hope
for a mother lode
of smartphones
still in tuxedos


playing major roles
hung in the Smithsonian
like insect embryos
undergoing old skin molts
lettered sub-coastally


named for the vein
like resting stages
of inane behaviors
ranging from a few days
in distasteful simulations
not your typical subway
as summer generations



square-tipped marking pens
taking to the ground in steps
like unusual residents
especially in the west
while playing roles of temperatures


cold blooded
no internal mechanisms
like lateral baskers
with darkening scales
taking full advantage


laying eggs
only around midday
antennae straightened
in dense vegetation
seeking mates
under cliff overhangs


as salt intake
actively engaged
until after eight
during daylight savings
with increased appreciation


preventing inhumane
abnormal haunts
over the the long haul
with pairs of forceps


handling postage stamps
in transparent plasticine sleeves
being released during butterfly season
temperatures above freezing
found in the clear...
