From one wing
to the other
after pulling the plug
and barking
at one another
as subadults' mea culpas
over open country
in mediocre descending notes
lower and lower in tone
evoking plovers
with postocular spots
and cobweb nods
minutely barbed
yet noxiously prominent
as glandular hairs
in woodlands
of fused anthers
lanceolately clasping
while thriving on bare
arctic strands
with the futility of capture
unwrapped in visceral fashion
like portentously theatrical
contextualized facts sent packing
totally out of character...
