prior times like annual rites
before and after midnight

after putting up
with being put down
armed exclusively
with ukuleles
and humor
no more no less
singalong and singsongy
whether I'm right
or whether I'm wrong
comme ci comme ca
pip-pip cheerio
stiff upper lip
and all that rot
as in semi-official lyrics
leading to unreason
entirely by third parties
while easy listenin'
within graying
legal vicinities
of inexperience
clownin' around
then escalating
into rough housing
in safe houses
as the walls
come 'a tumblin' down
over-n-out 10-4 chow...
