" Being Banished to the Boonies "
by Suzán Jiván
Mom & Mom-

As a charming somewhat
sincere but sloppy
assembled posse
of aged artists
under a fond gala
for wanderers
in comical dottiness
and serial melancholy
treading with a lecherous
smiley cherub of nonetheless
while dozing off now and then
with an all-of-a-sudden sullenness
minus jealousness cunningly constructed while clocking in
with transfixing precision
getting out of prison
smugly in sync
unwittingly inhibited
after giving in to a to-do list
of pyrotechnic for instances
favoring the ignition of exoticism
with the quasi-legal methods
of a crooked sheriff misdirected
by peripatetic disconnectedness
narrowly avoiding death
with laconic likeableness
cruising past in straw hats
into rootin'-tootin' massacres
with the spit-and-polish carnage
of bottom-dollar mobsters incarnate
felled by am ineptly executed
droopy bolt out of the blue
after snooping with the hubris
of a fool in a car pool
speeding through a peculiarly
dead-end future
with a well-groomed dark-hued
tuned-up pluralism
jolted by micro-tonal modes
breaking the molds
bowled over by boldness
blighted by foreclosures
in strategic overloads
of solo shows while on the dole
swallowed whole truth be told
starring a one-note mostly
as a sticky gooey goof
in an isolation booth
billed as a debut
by obliquely moving
between the mes and yous
of obtuse muses
sadly hackneyed
as an oblique cacophony
steeped in chaotic themes
being banished to the boonies...
