starting to wane like the latest
war-gaming unarmed confrontations
over sanctions sustained throughout decades of preoccupations
like the liberation of rainbows
awash in signature green
skeptical of cease-fire deals
like layerings of single-party creations
after changing hands in a standoff
of self-declared chairmen
threading the needle
instead of retreating...
