Hurtles to the longer term
turning drill floors
into open dorms
while hawking hot coffee
being tossed aside or ignored
on short notice cultivating control
in a spray of boasts starting over
handholding with a nozzled hose
in an undisclosed art trove
of little knowns like votive
candles all aglow
surprisingly so
as the melted tallow
of cartooned animals
no matter how hellbound
each of our houses
feverishly accounted
as the "here-and-now"
with the devoutness
of a crouching grouch
foaming at the mouth
puritanically doubling down
to all accounts
becoming a bit fiddly
brought to a brisk simmer
worth whipping
up and puffed a bit
with a wiry whisk...
