Every Now and Again

" Every Now and Again "

by Suzán Jiván, Mom
& Mom-Mom Suzán

for CA Conrad and the Poets
at Doobie's in Philly last eve...

May seem disproportionate
having lasted so long
blithely celebratory
steadily impressive
by reversing engines
every now and again

after extracting
the most valued
color and sound
distinguished by balance
while lifting the dampers
hand-over-hand

like the most inviting
"sometimes"
while tipping the balance
with slow pitches
enfolding
one on top of the other

with pink lettering
on lime green
like a late great painting
with a magical name
in anticipation
of congratulations

radiating stimulating
blue with orange
and teal with hot pink
with the wheeling
electronic beat
of a ringleader
lacking in fear
anagrammatically...
