cupboardfuls of portraits
borne in mind
tempered by light in profile
entirely ossified over time
yet no more refined
as arresting lines
unrealized throughout time
having been considered a sign
in common to all kinds
of likenesses having survived
situations outside
like broken ties with the divine
while gesturing piously
stylized smiles
half-closed eyes...
