In such surroundings
it seems unnatural
to be wearing a habit
as a throwback
to a long-after
intangible practicality
as seen before a wicker
fire-screen in a convex mirror
while half kneeling
before a traveling altarpiece
relieving poignancy
in varying degrees
in lieu of estate duty
plump fingers sporting rings
as distractions to the well-
established soon-thereafter...
