A companion pair
trim dainty veils
over brushed-back hair
unflatteringly taken advantage
rather niggling apparitional
treatment papery and thin
printed renderings
in silhouette left empty
as grief itself to ill effect
whole and set
into imaginary depth
melting ribbons of yellow
fairly irrelevant
like gilt tenderness
as allegorical pearl tiaras
and gold straps
versus clawed feel
and scaly tails...
