as explosive
splintering off
of ghost stories
like neon leers
fruitfully frequent
as exaggerated blinks
of soulful singers
with one-line zingers
of wincing vaudevillians
lovingly dressed in next-
to nothings for rough-
and-tumble lugs
touring cross country
in nightclub numbers
while strutting their stuff
as misanthropic back ups
in comebacks for hacks
in avoidance of ectoplastic
caps and urns of ashes...
