as dance
single-handedly
evoking
kickoff rapture
glittery silver gloves
steely and practiced
throwbacks in eyeblack
for halftime pick-skin glam
polka-dotted marvels
harnessed over harsh marks
of hash marks while little piggies
cry, "Wee Wee Wee all the way home"
aka " taking it to the house"
across celebrity runways
using weaves of archival material
over retro jerseys and leather helmets
minus Nike checks torqued
with tension in overblown
public spectacles
yet being left unaddressed
after falling under the spells
of silken ruthlessness
rivaling for attention
frustrated affections
underwritten ramrod-stiffened
cynical interest getting kicks
from playing, " Chicken "...
