" Gridded and Irradiated "
by Suzán Jiván, Mom
& Mom-Mom Suzán
Acquired tastes
staggeringly brave
as strengthened curators
chasing intergenerational change
pleated, ruched and laced
aided by labels on pyramidal planes
of pale pink paint portrayed
as sun-laced mountain ranges
improvisationally gridded
and irradiated by vaguely
melancholic refrains
of musculature and veining
in the strange angles
of extravagant claims
spray painted by snakes
against garden colonnades
strictly segregated
by majestic unstraightness
in batting cages made from stainless
steel razors under brutal interrogation
in new yoga-posed locations
of rotations as aftertastes
expecting to vacate destinations
by neighborly filmmakers
from the front pages in crucial ways
like faked mayhem in shake-ups
of strangeness by the voraciously
deranged while declining to claim
endangerment from the grave
clawing their way
while ruffing clubs
and leading spades
of slippery connotations
after raising the stakes
plunging headlong
into banjo-plucking songs
with the call and response
as virtuosity of dominant robots
in subscription concerts
toward the so-called, "boring"
while fending off urban sprawl
in a sappy love song
after knocking down doors
in due course evening the scores...
