A Withering Dissent

" A Withering Dissent "

by Suzán Jiván, Mom
& Mom-Mom Suzán

A withering dissent
among the many
short-term memories
in nightly segments

leaving questions
of comprehension
on the concrete levels
of abandoned doorsteps

as celebratory gestures
of passive aggressive
contents of sentimental
heart-wrenching comments

pre-empted by unrelenting
expletives of rebels expressed
in bellicose manifestos
unsympathetic to unhappy endings

like comic effects
bringing glimmers
of questionable intent
drawing heavily
down the stretch on stealth

in seedy motels
with the highest percent
of tough questions
loosely connected
by sustained momentum
for rabid revenge

in actions alternating
between scoured and crackly
stalking and kidnapping
reduced to freelancing in mid air

as the rockets' red glare
rising then crashing
like uncoiled contraptions
for eight tracks in grab bags
of half-full glasses that gush then sag

unsparingly raspy
clamorous classes
of punchy chapters
like ferocious finales
of overblown brass
in mass circulation...
