then getting up to dance
feeling classy
while remembering ragtime
at the asylum
testing our metal
as story tellers
on anxiety suppressants
dressing up in canary yellow
seen as hard-and-fast on canvas
recycled from tar paper
and onion sacks
left in coal miner's barracks
portrayed on internment-camp
plaques having been handi-
crafted with assertful yet
tattered individuality
left in rags for up-and-coming
fairs of the really really unfair
" See you there! "...
