Left to take our chances
with both the earthly
and the unearthly
in a puzzled world
borders first
then filling
in the middle
rigidly binding
like hindsight
of the likewise
permitting
compromise
neither pious
nor futile
as scenarios
of wait and see
within spheres
of aimless activity
maligning human dignity
along with all living things
becoming bereft of meaning
objecting strenuously
risking vulgarity
startling to hear
inner inconsistencies
hide and seek beyond belief
clean cut void of reason
missing pieces...
