Lifting the rod
into the back-cast
fishing across
the promenäde
resistance beginning
snagging the fly
stripping the line
drifting downriver
floats dipping
landing fish
holding fore grips
under still waters
with disgorgers
taking time to revive
energies survive
hatches of flies
feeder streams
suddenly deepen
signs of life
beneath the quiet...
