A Merry Jig

" A Merry Jig "

by Suzán Jiván, Mom
& Mom-Mom Suzán

A merry jig
ending
with a wince
at a dizzying
clip
of brash
boyishness

busily blustering
mordantly funny
as spoiled sports

collapsing into madness
after scampering
in a game of tag

broadcast
as multitasked IMAX
in payback
for embarrassment

benevolent audacity
matching cable channels
in batches of gym bags
for husky romance

in the shadows of the Vatican
as magnetism knowing how to tap
without losing impact
while living as nomads

hand-to-mouth
falling into halves
hard-boiled
and precarious

as lone dancers
in bravura passages
with waves of laughter

bare-chested, dressed in red
drumming extensively
peeking out, running on "E"

shaking frantically
lip-smacking
like a crank
without explanation

becoming engaged
in goofy ways
overly aimless
out of place
provoking outrage...
