while biting
through two-
inch thick
hippopotamus hide
with fragments
of papyrus
as evidenced
by archives

with little
or no dialogue
like mesmerized
fireflies
in pulsing, zipping
steaks
after a few beats

like currencies
displayed
in a contagion
in the virtrines
of museums
as colloquies
of incompatible
meanings

like date-night
activities
with card tricks
up our sleeves
and the love
of French cuisine

while policing salaries
of would-be leaders
available for the needy
in Brasher Doubloons
and pop-up dollars
for behavioral economists...
