Mom Suzán
A double-edged sensation
both banal and exotic
echoing lotus-blossom thrones
unfolding in bamboo groves
of hollow cellulose
uncovered beneath
damp logs and coal
coping by freakishly
leap frogging
and frantically hopscotching
across chalked potty courts
on blacktop
having once feasted
on larva in locust bark
and gotten the edge
on perennial flower beds
under hand lenses
and insect nets
during open-air events...
