patchy malignancies
like relationships
between aging
and inflammation
fostering getting shorter
in self-styled hindsight
outshined by an imposing
atmosphere of fear
threaded together
with senses of dread
fed by a profusion
of grueling shoots
with lethal tubers
inducing wilted
pistillates
musky heads
and necrotic cells
then dropping
reams of fertile seeds
onto blackening fields
as vernal inevitability
following dormancy
with a redeeming alchemy...
