" Loose Affiliations "
by Suzán Jiván, Mom
& Mom-Mom Suzán
Long but orderly
in many cases
struggling, shrunken
in spite of influxes
of the young
hollowed out by upbeat
kinetic energies
during striking ironies
fashionably stymied
by conflicting climates
after spates
of the hate-related
instantly famous
headed off
by real estate stakes
as squatters claim
the relaxed shapes
of loose affiliations
mined by synthesizers
far outside misalignments
cited by tribal divides
killing up to nine
in widening infighting
in spite of well-financed
privatized trials
mystified by buying
low and selling high
during much-needed
family ties like colliding
sibling rivalries
for bragging rights
while glad-handing with divisive
ties along rope lines
of guarded smiles
and laptop bias
as mountains of wire
are liable to be kept in mind
for the meanwhile...
