typically followed
by measured responses
while waiting quietly
in a steadily flowing line
and not outright trying
on a fleece-lined-
pint-sized parka
like dried leaves
lying outside
on the sidewalk
along with newly-worn
disorientingly warmish
and kittenish water-resistant
giraffe-print pants with flare...
