the horizon
then observing

with wakes
flag waving
in our eyes
and in our hair
as visceral cringes
on packing slips
sent up the road a bit
after pausing with thought
and making a corporeal
choice of assault
star-gazing
in a backyard parking lot
looking for migrant species
while remembering thinking
for the last time
this season with immediacy...
