by lantern-faced fundraisers
with insatiable slavering fangs
as dopplegängers just days
away from the long-awaited
Closed for renovation
wafting from cafés
all in the name
of fire regulations
and reinstallations
of imagined space
with great anticipation
in an empty gray space
of bewildering states
of opiate intoxication
unmoored from self-
deprecating foundations
with waivers...
