without reason or routine
spanning land and sea
granting anonymity
for playthings
sandwiched between
the next-best thing
swirling with alter egos
indifferent to symbiotic niceties
like catchall phrases
spoken as down-home tropes
yanked off the program
of out-imagined believabilities
after landing with a thud
as a "so-called-so-what"
excluding the "and" and a "the"
withering within a teeny bit of pith
listless and still never before exhibited
along with the slang word for a spill
outmaneuvered by slick resiliency
while laughing and dancing
in giant galoshes
and out-sized jodhpurs...
